Stay tuned for book recommendations and ways to keep your child engaged at home.  Setting Goals Together Each new year comes the reminder of setting resolutions and goals we wish to achieve. However, without proper planning, the goals seem to be forgotten as we get busy with our day-to-day lives. This year let’s focus on the importance of the goal-setting process for you and your child. Goal setting describes what you wish to fulfill and how you plan to make it happen.  From planning a goal to achieving it, there are many opportunities to learn about the hard work and motivation needed to reach a target. Introducing this process at an early age helps children understand themselves better and understand how they can accomplish anything they put their minds to.  Click here to learn more about the 4-step process When setting goals to focus on this year, consider the importance of balancing the different development areas, including physical, spiritual, academic, and social/emotional. Balance in these areas can lead to the well-rounded development of a child. These five elements include characters, setting, problem, solution, and theme. As you read,  work to identify these elements with your children.
